As the poser of original question in referenced thread ( www.teradataforum.com/teradata/20040504_183807.htm ), I confess that training classes for two different databases circa '96 - '98 became melded together to where I had become convinced that Teradata had a dummy tablename that was usable for aforementioned purposes. Dieter's mention of "DUAL" caused the dusty old Oracle light bulb in my head to flicker. Thanks for setting me straight!
