Shrinivas,

This is a bug being addressed by RFC 84623 and is scheduled to be fixed in V2R6.0. Today, basically, if a null exists in any field of a multi- column index or a multi-column statistic, then the respective columns are treated as having a null value from a statistics point of view. At our site, this has caused some significant performance issues. Once this is fixed, then your group by count should match your statistics count.
