Subj:   Disk I/O vs. Throughput Capacity

Hello,

I am attempting to analyze our disk I/O bandwidth and am curious how to compute max throughput capacity? If anyone has a copy of the slides from the "Do-It-Yourself Performance Analysis on the Teradata RDBMS" presentation from Partners 2003, I am trying to reproduce the Disk I/O vs. Throughput Capacity report shown there.

The formula on there is Throughput Capacity = 102 MB / Node / Sec. Is this a fixed formula for any nodes? Can't be right? Any suggestions how we could calculate that for our environment? If it helps, we are running a 2-node 4850.

I greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,

Anomy
