I believe the original poster is referring to the feature which I find in, for example, FastExport Reference (B035-2410-122A) on pp 2-48
and 2-49. I was wondering whether the OP was aware of this example and, if so, what was wrong with it.
If the feature works as expected it might save time with restarts of massive export jobs.
