Hi Agarwal:
Everything you describe in your question looks fine. So, if I were to guess what the problem might be, I would guess that you are using
Queryman for this operation. The Query window is very good about letting you type in control characters. We cannot see them, but Teradata's
Parsing Engine finds them with no problems.
When I am teaching an SQL class and the student's SQL looks fine, but it does not run, the fix always is to retype that portion of the
statement. Then it works. The re-entry of the syntax eliminates the control character. The problem seems to be that the Ctrl and the Shift keys
are just to close to each other and accidents happen.
