We use the same approach outlined by Michael. It's consistant with our technical architecture and we don't experience any problems or throughput issues but have to adjust for Informatica's practice of appending prefixes to the table names....limits you to about 24 character table names. We get over that by truncating the base view names in the intermediate loading database (affects about 5% of our table names). We examined Chris' approach but the ETL team didn't like the idea of having to edit the generated script every time it was generated (their problem description not mine because I'm not an ETL person!).
