Looking at this from a slightly different angle, it's definitely advisable to set up user IDs for all distinct archive/recovery jobs that
you're running. It's not a problem submitting multiple archive jobs under a single user ID, but ARCMAIN prevents concurrent restores under the
same user ID.
So, unless you arrange for multiple user IDs when setting up your archive/recovery strategy, you'll be unable to run parallel restores......
and you never know when you're going to need that!
