<-- Anonymously Posted: Thursday, January 15, 2004 16:07 --> Is there is any way to use an environment variable for the export file using BTEQ? I need to get the export file directory name from an environment variable in a Unix environment. The environment variable is set using an export command in a script. It looks like this: export DATADIR=/datasvc/data The export statement I'm using looks like this: .export report file=$DATADIR/temp/getLocation.dat I've also tried to put () and {} around the DATADIR. This is what I get when I run my SQL: *** Error: Open failed because: No such file or directory What it's doing is looking for DATADIR as the path, not as an environment variable. Thanks.
