You will not be able to influence when query log writes to disk, other than as you have already noted, by turning off logging.
For the summary table, the cache will be written to disk every 10 minutes, and is not influenced by ending logging. For the other DBQL
tables, the caches will be written either when they become full, or when logging is explicitly ended.
