Thanks everyone for your insights on DBQL thus far.
Our site has V2R5.0.1 in development, and I have done some experimenting with query logging. My question is, can we control when the
DBQL buffers are written to the tables? If so, how? And if not, can someone address how frequently the tables are written to?
So far, when starting and stopping query logging thru Teradata Administrator, I haven't yet had any problems seeing rows written to the
DBQL tables for queries I have submitted, providing that I turn off logging before attempting to look at the logs (the development system is
currently not being used very much, so I don't know how frequently the system would flush the buffers by itself). However, an NCR person
told me that there have been issues of not being able to see rows in the table - I don't know if he meant that they don't get written at
all, or just not within an expected period of time.
I did open an incident earlier regarding query submission/response timestamps in one of the DBQL tables - I was seeing that the hour of
day written to the tables was incorrect for the start time, first and last step times, and last response time. A person from GSC responded
that this bug is corrected in V2R5.0.2 as a part of DR 82429.
