Subj:   JDBC driver on Teradata

From:   Frank C. Martinez IV

Hello Vipan, et. al. (and mis amigos on the listserv),

Hmm, I assumed that the option that was on the TTU 6.2 Database Management CD that said Teradata JDBC, was THE only official JDBC driver. I also have the Utility Pak 1A and 1B discs which might have something else on it. Sorry, I've not very Java aware, so I didn't even realize what a Type IV driver meant as opposed to a Type II driver. In working with Wayne, we found Chuck McDivitt's Type IV driver on the web, and Wayne thought that a Type IV was good. Anyway, I don't know what the supported and unsupported recommendations are, but I will inquire with the people on the Teradata listserv, which has some very knowledgeable people on it. I know they've discussed it in the past. Anyway, I was just pleased that Wayne was able to connect today.
