Andy,

aside from spool overhead of fastexport, we experienced some spool problems using OLAP functions (in this case Qualify-Rank) that led to a much higher spool consumption; the SQL itself (via Bteq or Queryman) ran with very small spool space, but it literally "exploded" when using fastexport.

The reason for this could not be found so far, but we now write the data into a temporary table via Bteq and export it using a simple Select-From via Fastexport. This runs fine so far and may be a solution for you also.
