It's really not that simple. However, here are some thoughts... I'm almost certain that you can only have 1 Gateway vproc per Node. So if you have a single node machine you are limited to 1. However, each gtw vproc will support 1200 sessions. Each PE can support a maximum of 120 sessions logged on, so for 500 (concurrent sessions) you need a minimum of 5 PE's, for a production system you'd probably want to have at least one spare. AMPs: I think your notes below say that you've got 2 ranks with 7 x 10GB disks per rank. Raid 1 is usually the fastest raid setting, so you could configure 7 pairs of disks in which case you'd want 7 AMPs. To have more disk space available you'd want to configure it as Raid 5. But, I think that's going to get "messy" - but there again my knowledge at that level is definitely shaky. You may be better off talking to an NCR Engineering rep. They can probably give you best advice on this area. Dave
