I don't know why you would want to run more than one copy on a single server, but you cannot because there are too many issues with
shared resources. In Oracle this is very common. Everyone gets their own instance so they don't clobber each other. In Teradata in is not
necessary, because it is very diffcult (not impossible) to tie up the entire system.
If you need a second instance you need a second system. If you simply want to share resources between users just create separate
Databases within on instance of Teradata, and use access rights to control who see what.
Another rule of thumb if you are worried about someone tying up the whole system, set the spool space very low for all users. This will
limit how big the user queries are. If you have users the run larger queries frequently give only those users larger spool.
