Subj:   TDAT on laptop - how do I start it?

From:   Sam Sterling

Okay, I give up.

I've installed TDAT (with the SP3 and FAT32 patches) on my Win2k laptop but I can't seem to get it started.

The Teradata Command Prompt just gives me a C: prompt. I change the directory (which didn't match the documentation), and I can run "ctl".

When I do a pdestate I get DOWN/HARDSTOP.

When I try to bring up the Database Window, I get an error in startup script:

invalid command name "xtk_appcommand"
   while executing
"xtk_appcommand -option "$p""
("foreach" body line 2)
invoked from within
"foreach p [split "$xdbw_w(switches)" $xdbw_w(pathsep)]{
xtk_appcommand -p[topm "$p"
}"
(file "C:\{Program Files\NCR\TDAT\PDE\04.01.00.00\bin\xdbw.tcl" line 213)

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Sam
