I' like to know what type of transformations are making Teradata "slow" ;-). Moving data to Oracle to do transformations because that's faster than Teradata sounds weird. They must be doing something wrong, please, send more details.

I believe most of us are doing Complex transformation on Teradata without problems.

Of course, there will always be a place for transformations outside Teradata, but those are mostly row level ones that you can easily achieve using simple tools or inmods and avoid the expensive I/O.
