<-- Anonymously Posted: Tuesday, August 20, 2002 13:22 --> Several months ago I migrated to a new machine by ARMAIN dumping and restoring the data dictionary and tables. The database has journaling but it was turned off, but there was still an associated journal table that was in journal database. Well I forgot to restore the journal database and table. I am now trying to turn journaling on but the journal table is not found and I am receiving: *** Failure 3825 Incomplete table. I have tried many things including 1) modifying table database to drop the default journal 2) modifying table database to associate default journal 2) dropping and recreating the journal database and table I think the solution is to update the JOURNALID (byte(6)) in DBC.DBASE to '000000000000'XB and then associate the journal again. But my System DBA says he doesn't know how to update a byte field, and he thinks it is too dangerous to update a DBC table. Any thoughts on updating this field or is there another way to solve my problem? I cannot drop the table database because I would lose all of the accessrights on the database and tables. Thanks.
