Al, I haven't used TDQM, but in general, I believe TDQM is targeted at managing queries before they begin processing on Teradata. BY that I mean before they start using CPU and IO resources. However, I believe that the next version of TDQM will start to be more closely linked with PSF in that you will be able to limit the number of concurrent queries that are assigned to the same performance group. What it sounds like you are trying to do (slow down high CPU consumers) is exactly what PSF is intended to do. What problems are you having? How are you identifying a "high CPU consumer" and how do you want that query to behave over time? I have used PSF fairly extensively and have used it to do the kind of thing that it sounds like you are looking to do. If you provide more info into the problem(s) you are having in controlling queries, maybe someone on the list could give some guidance. I don't think TDQM is going to do what you need. Thomas F.
