Subj:   Re: Question about Teradata JDBC connectivity

From:   Charles Farley

Hello all-

Just my $.02, I use both a Type2 (from NCR) and a Type4 (third party), and we are using WebSphere. Our developers have successfully used both to create datasources and pools of connections within WebSphere (using WSAD). The Type2 is available in the TUF (now TTU) 6.1.1 dist from NCR, and the other we use is TdRedux from Presicient, I think the president of Presicient, Dean Arnold is on this list as well. Both are excellent products, but I do favor the Type4. IT has excellent performance and is platform independent (keeping me from having to maintain multiple versions of the Type2). I would suggest a visit to www.presicient.com and have a look around, I have also used the DBD::Teradata, and it works quite nicely.

Thanks,

loadc
