There is a trouble shooting section in the JDBC Users Guide on p. A-5 which discusses the error that they are receiving below. Here is the section from the JDBC Users Guide:

TERAJMODE
The TERAJMODE parameter is used on UNIX and Windows systems when theTeradata JDBC Driver software encounters the following error:

Failed while retrieving default transaction mode

The TERAJMODE parameter on UNIX and Windows systems should be set to the default transaction mode on the Teradata RDBMS you are connecting to, such as:

. TERADATA (also known at BTET)
. ANSI
. PRE (if running with a release prior to V2R2)

For the other question, I believe that Satyam has created a Teradata data source for WebSphere. It would be helpful if they could let us know what they need.
