 Thomas, The question of the use of SAN's with Teradata seems to crop up from time to time and I believe NCR's official position is that this is
not a recommended configuration due the high I/O demands Teradata makes on its storage subsystem, which tend to exceed the ability of
current SAN technology to deliver adequate performance. In reality, I suspect there is probably some gray area where depending on the size of your system and the expected workload, this might
provide adequate performance but I think the general consensus is that a SAN based architecture is not a viable solution for a robust
Teradata system expected to deliver high performance at this time.....
