Subj:   ODBC performance

Are any sites using NCR's ODBC to bring back thousands of rows to the desktop? We have found that this process is very slow. We attempted to bump up the ODBC MaxRespSize option in order to specify a larger size for the Teradata response buffers (the max value is 65477 for V2R3 and above), but when we monitor the tcpip packets via NetMon, it appears that the largest tcpip packet size we can get is only about 1488. Does anyone know what sort of limitation we might be running into? We assume there must be some limiting factor on the client or on the lan or on the database, but maybe someone can give us a list of things to check, assuming that someone has already gone through this exercise. TIA.
