Are your users using BO or another query tool?

In every release of Teradata STATISTICS become more and more important. I would suggest you grab a couple of the queries they are having spool problems with and analyze your stats against them to see if there are any columns/indexes that don't have them collected on and going to 2.4.1 makes a difference. Insure that all the columns they are doing SELECTION on (i.e. in the WHERE clause) have stats as well as JOIN columns, your PI's (i.e. UPI and NUPI), etc.

Would like to know the results if you get this one cracked as it might be interesting to all the others in the TDATA chain!
