I'd try dropping and recollecting statistics - first on the smaller information/dimension tables, then the history tables. We encountered this problem going to a newer version a while back. The parser had new capabilities and our old-version statistics did not provide enough information. The parser fell back to random AMP sampling and developed some bad join plans per the EXPLAINs. Recollecting statistics gave it the necessary info and it behaved as expected again.
