I made the same experience in the past: Logical equal but different written SQLs (where clause vs. inner join syntax) can result in different plans and usually one is much better (not always the where clause). NCR says always the optimiser does query rewriting but in this area it seems to have some lacks. Will this change in a future release? Regards, Ulrich
