Yes, there is also a limitation.

Take a look a the "Teradata DBS for UNIX Data Dictionary Reference Teradata RDBMS V2 R2" manual for the DBC.tables view that access the DBC.TVM tables.

In the DBC.TVM table there are two fields called requesttext and statementtext:

requesttext contains the text of the most recent data definition (reflects the definitions specified by the user). createtext contains the data definition after transformation by Teradata.

Finally, the limitation resides in the data type of the createtext statement that I think is used by the show macro statement.

We are running V2R.02.01.01.00

in the DBC.TVM table :

     CreateText VARCHAR(20480) NOT CASESPECIFIC FORMAT 'X(255)',
