From:   Gregg, William

Hi - what is the average number of rows that map to a single NUPI value? What is max, min, and std dev?

If U have too many rows mapped to a typical PI value, the rows begin to flow into multiple blocks negatively impacting performance across the board.

If U have enough rows per month (or whatever time block makes sense) to merit partitioning by time, U may be pleasantly surprised by a partitioning solution.

Good Luck.

Rgrds,

Bill Gregg
