If tablename and backup tablename prior to suffix are the same try self join of dbc.tables where substring(tablename,1,length(tablename (of non backup)) = tablename of non backup.... of course make sure you are processing only tablekind of 'table' ('t', 'o'), avoid views ... That should be kind of straight forward
