I don't know if this is a 'negative' for you, but changing this table will affect all usernames on the system, users as well as service accounts. It is a system-wide table, affecting all usernames, unless...

As someone else pointed out, an alternative is to make these changes in the profile definition for users. Most sites would have different profiles for 'users' compared to service accounts. This is one reason (of many) for using profiles.
