Hi all, A couple of suggestions on this topic. If you're on TD14 then COLLECT SUMMARY stats on the table as well. IMHO even faster than SAMPLE and possibly just as good. Also, the original post said that all 5 columns of the UPI were used in the join. Is the assumption here that these columns are used with an equality condition on the join? If one or more are non-equality then you're back to possibly full stats on that column (at least). Possibly need more details of the sql involved.
