Dear DBAs,

I'd like to hear how your shop practices granting roles.

My shop has assigned one role to each user. The purpose in doing this to make easy for DBAs to maintain roles and their access rights.

But recently I have been challenged to grant multiple roles to a user?

I'd like to know how your shop practices.

What are the pros and cons of granting one role to one user and multiple roles to one user?
