I get that adding two times does not make any sense and hence the addition fails.

But when i try to add two Dates i get a result:

     select date '2012-12-12' + date '2011-12-12'

     Result : 1469944

I understand that dates are saved internally as integers and the result i am seeing is sum of two integer values , but isnt this also illogical?

Any help is much appreciated
