Subj:   Migration between two Teradata Machines

From:   Bakthavachalam, Roopalini

Hi Forum,

I have to move an application and all the related users from one Teradata machine to another. This is how I was thinking to do it.

Create a replica of the application Databases on the destination server Take a backup of the application data from the source server Copy the data on the destination server? Create all the related application profiles/users / roles / Grants / Access Logging / Query Logging on the destination Server Set up Backup for the application on destination server Set up all the TASM related rules for the application on the destination viewpoint.

My question is? Can I just bundle everything along with the data ( For instance take a dump of all the users / profiles/ grants/roles / TASM rules related to that application only) from source machine and dump it on the destination machine. Just want to check if there is any better way of doing it.

Thanks

Roopalini
