Hi, For ** any ** query performance issue where a solution isn't obvious look at the explain plan. And if you can post it then that will allow people to help you quicker. What are the differences in plan structure between these two? That will provide your answer. Also note that your two queries will probably not produce the same answer. One query is looking for a year's worth of data (26 feb 2012 to 26 feb 2013) whilst the other is looking for rows with a single date value (22 Feb 2013).
