Sorry, first attempt didn't get through. Ward Analytics Ltd - Information in motion (www.ward-analytics.com) ---------------------------- Hi, Ok, thanks for the info. So your VM isusing 192.168.133.1 as an ip address. On your Windows host, start the vmnetcfg.exe program. This should be in the folder where you installed VMPlayer. I'd expect one of the "VMNet" entries to show a 'subnet address' of 192.168.133.0, probably the VMNet8 entry. I get communications working the following way (there are probably others): - select the VMNet entry that has the required subnet. - click the "NAT settings" button to display the "NAT settings" dialog - click the "Add" button to display the "Map Incoming Port" screen - fill in the details to point to the IP adress of your VM. Port 1025 is the default port for the Teradata gateway, I'm assuming that you haven't changed it. - click "OK" (3 times) to save your changes and close the VM network config program. Now try pinging your vm from your windows host and/or try logging on with SQL Assistant or BTEQ. Whichever of these you try I suggest you try the connecting by ip address first and once that is working put an entry in your hosts files if you want. Cheers, Dave Ward Analytics Ltd - Information in motion (www.ward-analytics.com)
