Hi R,
Useful info thanks. I suspect that the reason for "The overhead of CPU seems to be low " is because on the 2690 the compression is done via a
separate card/cpu and therefore what you are measuring as cpu usage (resusage, dbql etc) does not include the compress/decompress overhead. Please
don't get me wrong I think hardware compression has its uses, I'm simply pointing out that I don't think you can measure the overhead of this
processing using normal sources of data.
