Hi Dave, Thanks for the remarks. You're right, CPU Time has nothing to do with longer elapsed time when a request gets locked. Stupid rookie mistake, of course StartTime, FirstStepTime and FirstRespTime columns are to be used! Sorry about that :) As for your second remark, you're right also, eventhough dictionary locks are normally not so common. Let's just assume that Christer would have seen if the request was blocked by someone else, as he mentioned the use of Pmon. If it's not the case, Christer please check LockingLogger to prove/disprove the locking path for good. My point is, that the query is probably not blocked because of some locking issues and there is rather a parsing problem. It's Christer's turn to clarify the details now. Cheers, Tomas
