Hi Sughesh,

To answer this question, we will need more information regarding the query, the PIs, indexes, statistics etc. As a pointer, below are some of the cases when a full table scan can occur.

1. SQL does not contain the WHERE clause.

2. WHERE clause does not use the Primaty Index.

3. In-equality operators in the where clause 4. Badly chosen/distributed PI or PPI 5. Use of LIKE clause 6. Stale or no stats.
