Hi, The results that you're seeing is what is expected. Using the MODIFY USER command changes your user definition. This change does not take effect until the next time you logon. If you want to change the default database for your current session (which would be reflected when you issue "SELECT DATABASE") you need to use the DATABASE statement. Cheers, Dave
