Hi Joe, Thanks for that, I've never seen that before. When you think about 'stale stats' it makes sense to recollect, but remember that the statistics are stale whether the configuration is changed or not. I'd still argue that doing a config change doesn't require a complete recollect of stats (think how long it's going to take and how many cpu cycles are being burnt). Instead I think I'd argue that the statistics recollection practices on the system should be looked at. But that may just be me defending my earlier answers... Even Todd's note below doesn't make the recollection mandatory - as referred to in an earlier post on this thread. NB: Todd Walter is one of the Teradata CTO's and is one of those people who I've come to realise that you always listen to when they speak about Teradata things.
