Subj:   Re: Running scandisk

From:   Nagaraju Muriki

Hi,

1. Do I open Database Window -> Supvr and type 'start ferret' and submit the command from there?

Yes, Go to supervison window and start "start ferret" it will guide you to ferret started window.

2. Go to Ferret start window type scandisk.

It will prompt you for scope Type Y

The scan disk will be started. To know the running status type INQUIRE.

Once scandisk is completed make sure to exit from Ferret window.

Or else if you use Viewpoint follow the below steps to run scandisk.

1. Click on Add Content

2. Go to Tools

3. Go to Remote Console window

4. Once that portlet open select databasename which you want to run scandisk click on Next

5. Click on Ferret Utility

6. Ferret will be started

7. At below portlet type scandisk command and press Enter

8. Scandisk will be started Type INQUIRE to get the progress

9. Once scandisk completed Type Exit to exit from Ferret

10. Go to upper right corner of the portlet click on ClearConsole--It makes you to complete exit from console window.

Or

If you have Unix nodes connect to PDN node and type "cnsremote scandsik" press enter scandisk will start in another supervisor window and Type INQUIRE to get the progress

Thanks and regards,
