Subj:   Max Row Size and Data Block Size

From:   Gutta_Ram

Hi,

We are using TD 12 and I am trying to create a table with the following ddl. As you can see, datablock size is defined as 130000 bytes, still I am not able to create table with row size > 64000.

Is this a limit on row size itself irrespective of data block size? I don t want to split the table into two and later join in a view Is there any other way of creating this table?

     CREATE MULTISET TABLE table1 ,NO FALLBACK ,
        NO BEFORE JOURNAL,
        NO AFTER JOURNAL,
        FREESPACE = 0 PERCENT,
        CHECKSUM = DEFAULT,
        DATABLOCKSIZE = 130000 BYTES

        (
          Col1 DECIMAL(18,0) NOT NULL,
          C2 VARCHAR(4000) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C3 VARCHAR(4000) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C4 VARCHAR(4000) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C5 VARCHAR(40) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C6 VARCHAR(100) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C7 VARCHAR(100) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C8 VARCHAR(50) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C9 VARCHAR(4000) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C10 VARCHAR(4000) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C11 VARCHAR(4000) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C12 VARCHAR(4000) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC,
          C13 VARCHAR(4000) CHARACTER SET UNICODE NOT CASESPECIFIC)

        PRIMARY INDEX ( COL1 );

Thank You
