Hi,

With Teradata 13.10, you can compress almost everything except the following:

Component of the primary index
Derived table columns
Referenced primary key columns
Identity columns
Referencing foreign key columns
UDT and LOB columns
Volatile table columns

The following datatypes can be compressed:

BYTE (up to 255 bytes)
BYTEINT
CHARACTER (up to 255 characters)
DATE (expressed as COMPRESS (DATE 'yyyy-mm-dd'))
DECIMAL/NUMERIC
DOUBLE PRECISION
FLOAT
INTEGER
REAL
SMALLINT
