I think the concern is that Teradata is promising 100% equivalence between GROUP BY and DISTINCT going (v13.10) forward.

Does this mean 99+% plus equivalence or 90% equivalence. If 90%, then the DBA Guild is probably still facing a lot pain.

Locally, we have a lot of developers who exclusively use DISTINCT and a lot of tools that exclusively use DISTINCT. So the difference between 90 or (even) 95% and 99% is significant.

IMHO.
