Yes, "database space" comes from the physical disk space on your system. How you can increase that total physical space depends on what type of system you have.

If it's a normal system (hardware and software obtained from Teradata), then you can't just add disk. You must expand the system by adding a balance of CPU capacity and disk space. Contact your DBA or Teradata system administrator, or someone who can get your Teradata sales team involved. You may sometimes find it more attractive to migrate entirely to a newer, larger system rather than add on to your existing system.

If it's the Demo/Express version, you cannot increase the space limit.

If it's "software only", running on your own single server, then you may or may not be able to expand. But it won't be as simple as just adding more disk. You would need to get your Teradata technical support team involved.
