Did you set your utility characterset to the proper one? Here is how to set the character set in a few different tools. I use UTF8 as an example. Multiload can be set one of two ways for UNIX/LINUX/WINDOWS. 1) Put entry charset=UTF8 in file mloadcfg.dat This file needs to be in the directory where mloads are run. This would apply to all mloads unless overridden. 2) On execution you can set it by using the -c parameter example mload -c UTF8 IN ODBC on UNIX/LINUX, put CHARACTERSET=UTF8 in your connection in .odbcini IN ODBC on windows, edit your odbc connection and change the session character set at the bottom of the window to UTF8 In .net on windows, change the session character set on the advanced tab. If you want to see the proper characters in sql assistant you need to set the font to something like 'Arial Unicode MS'. This is dome in the menu option view...set font. See the manuals for more information. Thanks, Robert Diehl
