Subj:   One node fail due to UMB card burn-in

From:   Ding, Stephen

Hi everyone,

One node of our customer's system has been failed last week. After investigate, TD CS figured out it's due to a UMB card burn-in and heartbeat of that node lost.

So the whole system restart to kick out that fail node. And because there is no standby node in this configuration, we need to restart system after a new UMB card being put back into its position.

I don't have any idea about what a UMB card is, I think it may be a network card or something else connect the node to the BYNET.

For out customer, two system restarts are unacceptable. I want to know, is there any way we can monitor the condition of those hardware components in TD system? Or, how you monitor hardware in your solutions? Most appreciated.

Stephen
