Don't know if this is 'relevant' but in TD13 - forward, the DISTINCT and GROUP BY options execute the same way, so there is no longer a 'difference' in the performance based on the data demographics! Code both ways (simple example) and do an explain on both and you should see the same plans - unlike before 13. FYI
