Hi, Normally, the Teradata DBMS will run DEFRAG as a background task 'when it needs to' as controlled by the DBSControl record parameter DefragLowCylprod. Under most circumstances you'd never need to run this manually. The Ferret utility has a Defragment command which is the manual version of this process. Another answer referred you to Packdisk. Please note that in the Teradata world, Packdisk is NOT strictly the same as Defrag, although it's possible that as a result of Packdisk you have also defrag'd the affected cylinders.
