Geoff was right about TTU13 working with TD12 (it does) and it also works with 2.6.2 as usually TTU's are 'backward' compatible. Prior to TD13 you could NOT run TD Mgr Server on a new/current TTU to an older TD release. HOWEVER - in TD13, the TTU utilities are now installed in a separate directory (used to be C;/Program Files/NCR). So when you install TTU13, they now get set up in C:/Program Files/Teradata/. . . We are running V2R6.2 TD on our TD instances and are preparing for migration to TD 13.00. As part of that, we migrated our ETL/BI servers to TTU13.10. However, because we run TD Mgr Server from the ETL servers for Dev and Prod we thought we needed a separate Windows server for TD Mgr Servicer as you can't runt TD Mgr SERVER (not client) for TTU13 against a v2.r6 TD instance. However, we are running TD Mgr Services 7.2 (for TTU8.2) on a server that is running all the TTU13.10 utilities! The key is in CLI. As the old TTU releases up to and including 12 are put in the NCR directory and the new TTU13 are placed in the Teradata directory. Because they are 'separate' they are effectively in different environments and can coexist. It's about time Teradata put these utilities in separate directory structures. It gives us a lot more options, although you would probably get a 'not supported' response from GSC. Oh - you can use TD Manager/PMON, etc. for TTU13.00 (not available for TTU13.10 - replaced by Viewpoint) against TD v2r6 if you connect directly to the DB - but NOT to the Server as that is 7.2 as stated above. The KEY is (I believe) separate install directories). P.S. we are basically a Windows based site with exception of TD and our AS400's main systems. JK
